Establishment of the Ministry of Youth & Sports : 1978 2. Establishment of the Department of Youth Development(DYD) under the Ministry of Youth & Sports : 1981 Status of DYD : Public Working area of DYD : Entire Bangladesh Target group of DYD : All classes of youths specially the unemployed youths aging from 18-35 years. Vision of DYD : Involving the youth in mainstream of nation development process by making them organized, disciplined and productive workforce. Objectives of DYD : To involve the youth in socio-economic activities ; encourage them towards productive employment ; ensure their participation in decision making process, form youth organizations for their participation in national advancement etc. 3 Youth activities related policy/law guidelines : There is national youth policy in Bangladesh depending upon which DYD is running youth activities all over the country. Recently, Govt. has approved draft rules as regards registration of youth organizations which will stimulate working atmosphere between DYD and Youth organizations and ensure transparency and accountability in youth work. Except these, there are training manuals, Micro-credit manuals and other guidelines for implementation of youth development activities. 4 Manpower of DYD : 6888 5. Activities of DYD : Skill Development Training (74 trades), Micro-credit(individual and group), self-employment and entrepreneurship development. Youth organizations in youth works, wages employment program(national service programs), public private partnership programs etc. 6. Other activities : Observance of National and International youth day, Commonwealth youth programs, Grants and Rewards to youth and youth organizations, relations with international agencies etc. 7. Total allocation : For Revenue Setup(2013-14): Tk. 350.50 lakh. For 6 projects: Tk. 48781.40 lakh. Total ADP allocation (2013-14) for the 6 projects : Tk.12112.00 lakh.
